Psychology sessions are 50 minutes

We provide treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.  With a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) you are eligible for a rebate in up to 10 sessions per calendar year.   See your GP to get a MHTP before you book your appointment with Shape Psychology.  Inform the reception staff as they may need you to book an extended GP appointment.  Please note that couples counselling is not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Some private health insurers allow you to claim rebates.  Check with your provider first to see if you are eligible and if you are you can claim directly with your insurer after your session.  Remember that you can't use your private health insurance if you are using Medicare rebates.

To make an appointment with Shape Psychology decide if you want to access Medicare or be a private client.  If Medicare make sure you have your referral.  When you speak to us we will arrange online intake documents which contain credit card authorisation required to confirm your booking.  If you are self-funding as a private client, simply contact us and we can book you in.

Our cancellation policy is strict.  If you do not show for your appointment without contacting us, you will be charged the full fee.  If you cancel within 48 hours you will be charged $80 and if it is within 24 hours you will be charged $120. No Medicare rebates apply.
